Six months.
One argument a week.
It works on a group chat that has gone quiet, on people you only just started working with, and on the mate who moved overseas and gets three messages a year. Nobody rings for no reason — so this is the reason, every week, and nobody has to be in the same city. Every group has one person who would actually set it up — in yours, it’s probably you.
You’ll end up watching games between teams you don’t follow, because you said who’d win.
Everyone in the group reckons they know. A season-long ladder remembers who actually did — and it’s almost never the one who talks the most.
This is the one that organises itself. A minute now, and all season it’s your competition they’re arguing in.
One minute now. Every round an argument.
You create the rivalry. TippingMates handles the admin. Three steps, and then your mates do the hard work of being wrong.
Pick your league, name your competition
Choose the league, give your competition a name your mates will actually answer to. You're live in under a minute, and the maths looks after itself, all season.
Round up your mates
Email them and they’re in the second they sign up. Or drop one link or a short code into the group chat, wherever your friends and colleagues already are — those ones come to you to approve, so your competition stays your people and not randoms.
Then pick against them
Everyone picks a winner before each game locks. Scores, results and the ladder sort themselves out. You just get to be right, in front of witnesses.
Three questions. That's the setup.
Three things. Everything else is already sitting there waiting for you — the next games lock 1 Nov 2026.
You decide
- The league and seasonLa Liga. Already loaded, every round of it.
- A name“The Cousins”. “The Office”. Whatever they’ll answer to.
- Who gets inEmail them straight in, or hand out a code and approve the ones you want.
Already done for you
- Every fixture and kickoff timePulled from the official draw. You never type a fixture.
- LockoutsFive minutes before each game, on our server. Everyone’s on time, automatically.
- Scoring2 points a win, 1 for a draw. Change it if you like — everyone sees the rules.
- The ladderRound totals, season totals, updated the second a game finishes.
- RemindersYour mates get a nudge before the tips close — from the app.
- The mathsAll of it. Forever.
That's it. If it takes you more than a minute, you've spent the time picking the name.
Less work than you thought, isn't it.
Start your competitionThe hard bit was never the tipping
It’s getting six of your mates to do anything at all. So that’s the bit we made easy — one code, they tap it, they're in. And the ones who come in by code land with you to approve, so your competition stays your people.
One code. They tap it. They’re in.
Their side of the argument
The part you get blamed for. So: no payment screen, no forms, nothing that makes you look like you’ve signed them up to something.
They tap your code
It opens the competition with your name on it. They can see who else is in before they commit to anything. No card, no payment screen — there isn’t one to build.
“oh it’s just Dave’s one, fine”
They pick winners
Every La Liga game, two taps each. Their picks stay hidden until the game locks, so nobody can copy the leader — and nobody can accuse them of it either.
“I’m taking Athletic Club and I won’t be told otherwise”
They watch the ladder
Scores land as games finish. Their row is highlighted. They will screenshot it when they’re on top and go very quiet when they aren’t.
“ladder’s broken”
Nobody has to have the app before you start, and nobody is ever behind — everyone begins on zero the round they join.
Worried they won't bother? Send them the code and find out.
Get the codeYou'll check it more often than you'd admit
Open it, see where everyone’s at, send someone a message about it. That’s the ritual.
See the lot in one tap
This round, where you sit, what’s live right now. No digging.
It scores itself
Games settle the moment they finish. You don’t add up a thing.
The ladder settles it
Round by round, season totals, your row front and centre. Screenshot it. Send it to them.
Real screens from the TippingMates app — live now on the App Store and Google Play.
Fair for everyone. Even you.
So when they lose, it’s all on them.
Right then. Who's in?
